I find that I’m becoming increasingly more comfortable with “not knowing.” This is huge because I’ve always been the know-it-all and have often defined myself by my intelligence. But there’s something rather WONDER-full about being okay with the mysteries of life; the mysteries of God. In fact, the wrestling with an idea can be more exciting; more exhilarating than reaching any definite conclusions about an idea. Knowing can sometimes be anti-climatic in that way, I suppose. And then there’s those FAITH-tastic moments where you never figure “it” out. That used to frustrate me. Still does sometimes. But now more than ever…it is a comfort. I don’t have to know. I don’t have to be “on.” I just have to be. And keep on being.
Today’s FAITH-tastic Friday image comes courtesy of my recent drive home from Florida with my family. It was a reminder for me that though my journey may be long, though I may not KNOW all that coming down the road…God still keeps his promises. – TMLG
And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. – Genesis 9:12-13
